With the craze of Half-Life's multi player code, came several multi-player mods, like Team Fortress, Counter-Strike, and Day of Defeat. All of these pitched their players in a fight between each other, either working as a team or alone. Then over 10 years ago, a mod came that had a different concept, co-operative multi player. Sven Co-op quickly became a favorite, creating a huge community of followers. The premise of the mod is simple: you and other people connect to a game server and instead of blowing each other up, you work together to complete an objective on several different maps. Players have to give each other weapons, help each other climb to different places on the map, and work together to kill the monsters that lure in those maps. Over the years the mod community has created many maps. Each map has its own setting, and even models and weapons. They all can vary, the common element is just working as a team against the AI monsters. The fun you get from playing this game is neverending, and it's easier to make new friends when you are working together than when you are blowing them up. If you ever have small LAN parties, this is a game you should try for pure fun.
